Ians ankle has recovered but Cam had another trip to the doc this morning.
Turns out he is allergic to the plasters! Didn't stop him doing another
double diamond black.

Just another sunny day in Whistler!

A bit of a recovery day for me after two fantastic days of extreme skiing.
I was given a loan of fat skis and what a difference! Not saying I am a
powder genius or anything or didn't fall on most runs but way better!

Ian tweaked his ankle so having a rest day too! Manda and cam heading for
the sun

Survived!

Monday: heavy overnight snow meant a big powder day for dad in his
extremely Canadian ski instruction day. After splitting the 6 of us into
two groups by ability, we heading to steep ground and learned how to drop
in over cornices to steep gullies.

Dad: think of skiing down central gully on Ben lui and you will be about
right. Or gardeloo gully.

Anyway I survived but exhausted.

Manda and the boys had a great time on a couple of blacks and doing powder
runs through the trees.

Rest Day

Its Easter Sunday, and we decided on a rest day. The weather is wet and cloudy at lower level with snow forecast for the mountain.

So a chance to stick some photos on the web here. Click slide show for full size photos.

All has gone very well, better snow and weather than I had anticipated. Cameron and Ian well up for going very fast on the blues and taking on a few blacks, including the fantastic Whistler Bowl.

Manda's skiing taken a big step forward after 3 days of enjoyable ski school with other women.

Alan has two days of extremely Canadian on Mon/Tue which will be very interesting... I am not sure my fitness will be good enough for loads of double diamond blacks and steep couloirs. So will have to see.

If I get some time I might stick some video on.

Hope you are enjoying the blog or at least the photos...

Feel free to email me.

Another day

Another great day on Whistler mountain. Three of us skied the huge black of Whistler bowl while Manda watched anxiously on. Especially when Cameron fell 100 yards down the steep slope. Not that he was bothered. He was still laughing even as he emptied snow from his t shirt and goggles. Only another week to go!!!

Splint for skiiers thumb

All strapped up and ready to go!

First injury

A badly staved thumb for dad, caused by going too fast in the terrain park
and overjumping a jump. Easy afternoon called for to recover. Thursday

Words?

You must be wondering what kind of blog is this, no words? Only photos and
not even very good ones. Well a couple of reasons. One the weather has just
been too good to have spare time, the other is that the jet lag has meant
when we were not skiing or eating we were sleeping. And of course
technology has not quite worked either. No gprs for my laptop and I am too
tight to pay for internet in the room. So has been down to the blackberry
keyboard and its ropey camera too.

Anyway everything is great.... Well except the exchange rate!!

Whistler make some nice promo videos.

If you want to see what we are up to then sit back and watch them

Weather

Here is a link to the Whistler weather

Just before we left they had 40 cms of snow with Sun forecast as a ridge of high presure built.

Temperatures to rise dramatically! Not sure what that means in Whistler's context.
